ABC Fires Star Jones After Surprise Announcement

Apparently, the announcement made yesterday by Star Jones was a surprise to producers and network suits, so she was fired after the show and will no longer be seen. She was even absent from the show's opening credits Wednesday. The show has a reputation for being a bunch of catty women. This really helps. :lol:

Yeah, I had heard rumors she was going to quit(because apparently her and Rosie, who is Meredith's replacement don't get along), but my mom said she just announced in the middle of the show. Weird.

I think she just bit the hand that fed her. I'm not impressed by her especially after all the free stuff she went after for her wedding. It wasn't like she could afford it.

I've only watched this show a handful of times. This won't look good on Star's resume!

Didn't she lose a ton of weight, by perhaps having the stomach stapling surgery? She does look, maybe it went to her head - ouch, sorry I said that!

When I think of this show, I am reminded of a scene from Everybody Loves Raymond. Marie was trying to patch things up with Debra (after another argument) saying "I heard on that show, you know the one with the nice ladies on the couch.....". The ~nice~ ladies on the couch - too funny!

I think anyone working with Rosie would be stressful. She is very demanding.

I agree...Rosie does seem at times like a "hyper" and intense personality.

I don't like shows where people talk over one another. They don't seem to listen to what the other person is saying - they just interrupt each other and it seems that everyone is talking at the same time. Very irritating. With that in mind, Rosie will be a splendid addition!!!!!!! :roll:

I never liked her "Diva" attitude. None of the other women had that. She truly believed in her first name. :roll:

I like Rosie and she had a very successful show herself. I think that she will blend in with the rest well.

But Star is exactly what Alicia said.. Rosie isnt that much better though either. As far as the wieght loss.. She had surgery.. Nothing to be ashamed of.. But lying? Plenty to be ashamed of

I had to take my mother to the hospital for outpatient surgery on Monday. I was with her fiancee as we sat and waited for it to be done. We were watching The View and we both commented that she wasn't really interacting AT ALL with the others. She made a few comments and her highlight was interviewing Lance Armstrong which she was very in to. I never saw it on a regular basis so I don't know how she normally acted on the show. However, I could tell something just wasn't right.

Star is extremely full of herself. She's going to hit the bottom hard.
