Seems they're pretty interested in that wave moving into the Caribbean... the reminder of how it was similar to Cindy gave me a bad case of flashback... prelude to a bad summer. That one caught me completely by surprise...didn't know it was even out there till I woke up the morning after it passed.

Good question?

"Do you think the gulf coast is ready for another major hurricane?"

I start listening to it just now and this question is asked:

Why don't hurricanes weaken rapidly down in the carribean like they do when making landfall?

What kind of a question is that? So far i'm not impressed. These are so easy to answer it's sad.

He is giving it a 10%-20% of becoming a TS or TD.

If it is so easy, how about you answer the question....;)

The again, you might want to re-phrase the question.

Landfall where?

They mentioned that Wilma had winds of 185mph at one point. I thought it topped out at 175mph despite the low pressure.

Wilma did indeed have winds of 185mph at least. http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/pdf/TCR-AL252005_Wilma.pdf

BTDT... Wunderground is a pretty decent site; but it has drawbacks I find refreshingly missing here. 1.) The advertisements and pop-ups can drive you nuts--even if you have a PU blocker, the ads are all over the place. and 2.) The blogs can get into two areas I'm glad this place eschews: Politics, and personal animus. They have some very heated political banter, and frequently resort to some pretty crude namecalling...

I don't mind using it as a secondary resource; but it's decidedly no S2K.

I don't see how it is going to S. Florida judging by the 00Z models:

Well almost all of those models seem to have it riding the N. Caribbean until it enters the Gulf... but it's still a ways out..lots of things can happen.
