Need prayers down here in S. Alabama

#1 Postby beachbum_al » Thu Jun 29, 2006 7:51 am

My husband (38) had a nuclear stress test yesterday. Well last night the doctor called and said that the test might had shown blockage in the arterties. David has had all kind of health problems with his diabetes, cholosterol, etc. He decided to take up scuba diving and has been working out for the last week by walking to try to get in shape. So I know he is trying. We are hoping to find out more today about the test results and I will keep you updated. Please keep my husband in your prayers. I don't think I can live without him.

OK, will remember him in prayer today. I'm glad he had the test. It's better to find out that way than by having a heart attack! Now they can treat him before it causes a heart attack. God Bless!

Prayers being sent from here in Palm Coast. My husband went through the exact same thing in April of this year. He is 37. He also was going to take up scuba diving. He did a dive in the Bahamas late last year. The doctor said we were lucky nothing happened, his heart doctor does not recommend scuba diving. I am not sure of the exact reason for it. You might want to talk to his doctor about the scuba diving. Did they say yet what they are going to do? Are they going to do a cardiac catheter? Please keep us informed as to how he is doing.

Prayers coming your way, of course, from here in the desert. I hope that with the doctor's help he can manage the problems and improve each and every day.

My prayers are on the way for you and David. Let us know how he is doing. I wonder if the mox of oxygen they use in scuba diving and the possibility of embolism from ascending too fast would prohibit heart patients from taking up this hobby.

Update:

He is still going through the scuba diving classes but will not be doing any dives until they know more. He talked to the doctor today more in detail and they are going to do a cath and go from there. David mention that if they needed to put stints in they would do it then. I don't know much about it and will do research on it. I will keep you updated.

It scares me because honestly I don't know what I would do without him. We have been through so much together and I know if we made it through what happen in 2001 we will make it through this. We lost our son back in 2001. Thank you for the prayers.
