good morning all
things were very quiet on St. Maarten last night. we had some rain earlier around 6 PM.
then we had that fantastic light show you were talking about, Gloria.
no rain over night.
my little backyard rain gauge said 1/2 inch this morning.
we just had another brief squall come through.
skies remain cloudy.
I suspect we will have rain on and off most of the day.

Ok,here I am again posting the observations from San Juan.Right now at 1:00 PM EDT a heavy shower is falling at San Juan.And this is only the start of the wave interacting with the upper trough moving thru with it's effects.I will post more observations later.

Looks like Vieques is in line soon, and then us, after the VI's. (yep.Barbara..it's insomnia season again.. ...) We've been enjoying the coolness of the day...but I would like to know why mosquitos are biting my eyebrows...maybe the only place I haven't sprayed bug juice?

Winds are really picking up here now as these thunderstorms start to roll into the vicinity. The sun had been shining around them, but just went away - probably for the duration. After having load balancing power outages almost all day, tonight we may have some other kind. Oops, a bit of hard rain right now.

Lime Tree Bay reported a wind gust of 96.9kts and 49kts, which I'm sure are data errors. But the gusts of 24 & 25kts are no doubt correct!

What a strange day! Fifteen drops of rain, cloudy most of the day, some seriously gusty wind late afternoon, thunder in the distance. Nothing as expected. We were offline awhile, something on the big island that is fixed now. Will be watching the pictures as they roll.

Vieques got .25 inch today - accompanied by lots of thunder.

Our DSL has been down, but we get out once in a while by cell phone link.

We didn't have much rain, either. Close to 6:30 I was watching radar, with nothing in our area, when I heard what sounded like thunder. From where? It was an earthquake! Did you guys feel it in PR/Vieques/Culebra? The Culebra seismo sure did record it. Wow!

Strangly enough,it has been very quiet not only in San Juan but for almost all of Puerto Rico,Vieques and Culebra so far tonight.I say strangely because this afternoon some bands of heavy rains with thunder moved thru but now even no wind is moving the leaves of the trees.But I see that convective area in the Leewards that for sure will arrive by the morning hours.

The weather in Puerto Rico this time of year is an indicator of Floridas weather 3 days from now when the bermuda high is set up just right.

We heard that at Dinghy Dock...everyone thought it was thunder! Didn't feel it though.

I didn't felt the quake here.A cloudy morning in San Juan with a big thunderstorm just NE of San Juan as I type this.It was a tranquil night here.

Thunder, and more thunder (I'm pretty sure it's thunder!) skies getting dark and it looks like the big red blob is kissing the edge of Culebra. I can still see the buoys marking the entrance to the bay though...hope it moves through fast.

Good morning all my neighbors!!

Very grey here this morning, winds are calm right now, and it's drizzling. (oops, a northern term! =raining very lightly) Overnight we had a good SE breeze and it was a wonderful sleep- no thunder or rain banging on the metal roof!!

I guess I'll go water thirsty potted plants outside. I didn't yesterday, figuring they'd get enough naturally. But we really had very little rain yesterday! That should make it rain, for sure.
