Would you consider yourself old-fashioned or modern?

#1 Postby angelwing » Fri Jun 30, 2006 8:21 am

I think I'm old-fashioned, I don't follow all these new trends with clothes, especially those pants for women, ack! Even if I had the body to wear some of those pants, I'd never buy them, they leave nothing to the imagination. And whatever happened to family time? Kids are so hung up now on video games, computers, I hardly ever see kids playing outside anymore. Schools are closed and there used to be a ton of kids playing, I haven't seen girls jump rope or boys being boys, they're all stuck in their houses with their electronic toys. Even dinners aren't intimate anymore, the TV is on if you manage to get the family at one time around the table.

I guess I'm in an old lady mood today, just felt like ranting a bit.

Modern. I have a 16 year old daughter, what can I say? She looks just like me!

I think I am very modern. I keep up with the fashions and wear clothes probably suited for a little younger person, but I look fine. I love cooking and entertaining and love presentation when fixing a meal. I am not going out gracefully. I will try my hardest to be my best till the bitter end.

I'm old old fashioned with modern open minded views - how's that? LOL

Old fashioned that I believe in decency, honesty but I am modern enough to respect other lifestyles, choices - as long as others are good people.

I'm really a mix of both! If that makes any kind of sense.....

Hey, I am old fashioned in my values too..... but, broadminded to what is going on in life today. I don't always agree with everything, but to each his own.

Yep - old fashioned in my values, but modern when it comes to fashion and hair, etc.

Modern for the most part. I reject the old sexual, moral, and religous values as mostly antiquated, and some of the dress code as the same, but not all of it.

For examples: I hate ties, and will not wear one unless I have no other choice, but I have no desire to grow out my hair, wear earrings, or wear my pants falling off my butt. Mostly I dress for comfort, but if I need to dress for something that requries me to dress more formally I'll wear a nice button down shirt, nice slacks, dress shoes, and dark socks, but I'm not going to wear that tie.

I don't expect people to be virgins until marriage, I think that is outdated, but I don't think that people should be irresponsbile about sex either, there is a middle ground to be had between those positions, and I think that is where we should go.

Well, by every account others have given me, including my own kids, decidedly "Old Fashioned"... but like others have mentioned... I'm "modern" inasmuch as I keep up with most of the current trends... some of which I heartily approve... others which I find repulsive... but that's just "old-fashioned" me...

I'm modern.

What can I say? I'm 16.

That doesn't mean I wear my pants falling off of my *** though. It's not the fact that I don't agree with it, it's the fact that it's **** uncomfortable. I don't know how all the other kids can even handle that.

That's a very open-ended question. I can't come up with an answer.

Definately old fashioned. When it comes to just about everything. Unfortunately the ladies don't like it much, which leads to endless saturday nights of never getting a date.

I'm with you Mary. As for fashions and materialistic things -- I dress to suit myself and buy what I can afford. However, I certainly don't buy every new things that comes down the pike.

In one area, I am very old fashioned. Music. Give me 50's any day.
