I thought Frank, who's posts I had liked a lot at first, had become too much biased toward no development. However, I absolutely do not put Wxman57 in that category. I consider him to be a fantastic poster (extremely knowledgeable, very clear communicator/writer, and OBJECTIVE). Quite simply, I consider him to be one of the best posters here. Since my time is limited and I often don't have enough time to read all the posts in a big thread, I'll sometimes skip right to his posts to get ASAP what I feel is the "real story". If he were to ever stop posting here, I'd consider it a huge blow to this BB. There aren't too many posters here for whom I'd say this. There are a good number of very good posters, but he is one of relatively few here I'd call outstanding. This BB is very fortunate to have him post here.

A LARGE AREA OF CLOUDINESS AND SHOWERS CONTINUES OVER THE
SOUTHWESTERN GULF OF MEXICO. THIS ACTIVITY IS EXPECTED TO MOVE
SLOWLY NORTHWESTWARD OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS...BUT SURFACE
PRESSURES IN THE AREA REMAIN HIGH AND UPPER-LEVEL WINDS ARE NOT
CONDUCIVE FOR TROPICAL CYCLONE DEVELOPMENT.

They'll soon be changing that because the shear in the area is starting to decrease.

It's software....it's called Global Tracks. (see the label on the map?) Once you purchase the software, you must include that label when posting images online.

We might just get something from this system, it seems like the increasing shear is moving away from this system while decreasing shear is moving towards the system. Ya know maybe JB was right about a possible hurricane from this.

I agree 100%. With decreasing shear this thing will likely have the NHC jumping on it by 5:30 or 10:30 tonight.

It looks like that image came from Hurricane Alley-- http://www.hurricanealley.net-- which I believe is run by a gentleman just up the interstate from here in Saraland or Chickasaw. Another site I like a lot is Skeetobite-- http://www.skeetobite.com
Hope you enjoy those! :D

If we can get at least 10 kts of shear over this system, then all we need is for the warm GOM to do its magic and this can easily become a tropical storm.

Hurricane Alley produces Global Tracks, but that image does not come from Hurricane Alley. You can purchase the software for personal use in which is what I did. It's just that if you post images online, you must include that label.

I've been wondering this for a long time, but what is the Shortwave SAT pic supposed to tell us?

Something along those lines except he said,"Rapid Development".

Not exactly. Sometimes people read my summaries of his posts and decided to change around what I wrote. However, he did say this could become a TS and then later on he said that if it developed, "everything could come crashing down". Thus this shows that he thinks that if development occurs it could be rapid and the system could get fairly strong. Basically from reading his post I got the impression that he thought a hurricane was possible.
