I don't know exactly the thought process that goes into scheduling a launch, but I do know the shuttle has taken off at all times of day, so I wonder why they scheduled it for a July afternoon in Florida. Seems like asking for thunderstorms.

The shuttle must launch at a certain time to acheive a particular orbit that will allow the shuttle to intersect the orbit of the space station.....MGC

For now, yes. There's a 40% chance it'll get scrubbed due to weather(there are puffy clouds behind the launch pad).

Just read they are trying to fix problems with the Jet Thruster too. There was alot of controversy about weather this launch should take place as well. I have a feeling this launch will not be a go. They seem to scrub launches alot more often now than in previous years. I guess they can't be to cautious. If it does go off I will not be able to watch outside it is way too cloudy. :(

MSNBC is doing live coverage of this launch. They have the latest developments. According to MSNBC, conditions are improving for launch.

I had a feeling. Hopefully storms will be further inland by launch time. Still some storms just inland from the cape. That edge of that cell just got to my house it just started to rain here.

That's sad, my brother and his wife and little boy went down to my uncle's house on Merritt Island to watch the launch, I know Rollin is sooooo upset (he is only 7). I don't know if they can stay till tomorrows launch time....poo
