Great decision Bronni!! I smoked for several years and quit cold turkey when I got pregnant with my first little boy. I had smoked about a pack a day, more or less. It wasn't easy but I did it for my baby so that definitely made it worth it and easier. My husband smokes, but only outside. (kids) Now I can't stand the smell of cigarette smoke. Every once in a while I'll crave a cigarette but I'll never start smoking again. I feel better now, I smell better now, I don't cough constantly, I have more money

, etc.!!
My dad smoked for over 25 years and when he finally decided to quit, he smoked at least 2 packs a day. He set a date to quit: January 2nd, 1987 & he quit cold turkey. When I was a kid, I tried to get him to quit with pamphlets, speeches, and a lot of nagging. I'm glad it finally worked. It's hard to believe that I ever smoked after all of the grief I gave him about smoking! lol, but man was it a good stress-buster for me!! No wonder I'm so stressed all the time.

Oh well, it's a bad habit and if you don't smoke now, don't start. They told my dad that his lungs would start healing as soon as he quit. It's been 16 years since he quit and even though he's older, he's healthier now than he was then.
Congratulations on your decision Bronni!!
