The b storm formation date...

2005 Tropical storm Bret June 28th
2004 Tropical storm Bonnie August 9th
2003 Tropical storm Bill June 29th
2002 Tropical storm Bertha August 4th
2001 Tropical storm Barry August 2nd
2000 Tropical storm Beryl August 13th
1999 Hurricane Bret(Last B cane) August 18th-19th
1998 Hurricane Bonnie August 19th
1997 Tropical storm Bill July 11th
1996 Hurricane Bertha July 5th
1995 Tropical storm Barry July 6th...3rd most active season!
1994 Tropical storm Beryl August 14th
1993 Tropical storm Bret August 4th
1992 Hurricane Andrew(Because of the subtropcial system) August 16th
1991 Hurricane Bob August 16th
1990 Hurricane Bretha July 24th
1989 Tropical storm Barry July 9th
1988 Tropical storm Beryl August 8th
1987 Tropical storm Arlene August 8th
1986 Hurricane Bonnie June 23rd
1985 Hurricane Bob July 21st
1984 Tropical storm Arthur August 28th
1983 Hurricane Barry August 23rd
1982 Subtropical storm 1 June 18th
1981 Tropical storm Bret June 29th
1980 Hurricane Bonnie August 14th
1979 Hurricane Bob July 9th

So over the last 30 years.

13/30 second named storms become hurricanes...
These storms happen 100 percent of the times.
Last second storm to become a hurricane was Bret of 1999.
5/30 second storms/named system formed in June.
10/30 of the second storms formed in July.
14/30 formed in August.
1/30 formed in Sept.
5/30 formed before the fourth of July.

So we will if we can pick things up!!!

Matt,

to be consistent, TS Ana in 1997 would also be the "B" storm, again due to the subtropical storm

You know, after looking at this data a bit, we're still running on an "above average" season... But I'm truly amazed at the lack of activity until now - and that opinion is probably only based on last year - which was - excuse the colloquialism... Absolutely nuts.

So I guess as history as our guide a storm name Beryl is not going to happen unitl July. Looks like we can take July off! :cheesy:

My guess for when the B-storm will form is sometime between July 10th and July 24th.

Sometime this month I have Beryl forming and if it doesnt then the season cancel crap will appear. :roll:

I remember in 2004, people lamenting that the year was a "dud", right up until August when all ** broke loose. If July IS quiet this year, for heavens sake, let's ENJOY IT!!! :lol:

In 1982 their is alisting of subtropical storm 1 which isn't a B storm.
