And the Dome holds in Bear Creek! Nothing much yesterday or so far today, but with the few hours of sunshine destabilizing the atmosphere, we might just get some of this stuff moving in now. Just watch that line of storms coming up from the SW - betcha money it splits just as it gets here!

We love to hear from you Cajun folks :D It's good to see y'all getting some too!

Houstonia - look out a west window and check out the mammatas clouds. Not a puff of wind and they're just hangin' there. I'm right down the road from you!

We got about a good half inch of rain here in central Montgomery county from that first batch that rolled through. After it moved out of the area, the sun came out full bore but now it is clouding up again from the convection off to the southwest of me. That is a pretty solid clump of storms and they aren't moving much.

And The Dome wins again! It got right up to Harris County, fizzled and is now moving back to the SW. Gotta laugh!

Anyhoo - now it looks like the ULL to our west is firing off storms as the sun sets. Will they hold together and make it far enough east to test the Bear Creek dome?

Been looking at the water vapor loop and there is still a lot of moisture on the way for Texas.

looks like a break from the rain may be in store for northern Harris co. within the hour. This will give us some time to light off those fireworks!

From what I saw out in your area around noon today it wasn't working well. I was soaked while at Lakes on Eldridge. Looking West tonight while cooking out in the rain, it sure looked like your dome had failed. Did it. We got some more rain from the afternoon/evening "storms" but nothing substantial.

I don't know about the Bear Creek Dome - At around 5:30 I drove to the Sonic at Eldridge and Little York and it looked threatening but never did more then a little sprinkle. It looked threatening all evening long, but we never got much here...

I'm happy some of y'all in Houston have had a respite.

We've been dealing with some heavy showers/storms in the Austin area since 4-5 p.m. Very interesting radar trends in the last hour are making me wonder if we might be dealing with a nocturnal core event tonight. The upper low is allegedly moving southeast from the San Angelo area, albeit slowly. Real heavy convection is centered near San Antonio and to its northeast and precip over Austin has re-developed in the last hour.

Hope I'm wrong but this is looking a little suspicious right now ...

well the rain in north Houston let up enough for a round of fireworks, but now the moderate rains have started again. I would estimate I have seen close to an inch since 7pm, so not a lot, but if it doesn't let up, then we could easily have 3-4"+ totals by morning (IF there are no heavier showers). A long, wet night looks to be ahead..

We have had a really good osaking here in San Antonio for the past 2 rs or so... Still lightning all around the area... I am in the Northeast side of SA in Converse... But I think the storms and rain ruined most of the fireworks... Looks like a break now, as ther eis no rain but still pleanty of lighning all over... How is Houton??

We just had right at 2 1/2 inches here from the latest storm same one that went through San Antonio and I can still see the spinning on radar. Looks like more is in store within the next hour of so.

And yes, I was wrong (not the first time). Not much if any of a core event.

Now that the upper low is sliding towards Houston, may it continue its movement into the Gulf and away from areas that have been flooded!
