The ULL I have been following is in the Florida Straits and appears to be moving west according to the animation I have been looking at. Just a S.W.A.G. on my part.

At the risk of beating the equine-on-life-support (and sounding naive), I expect better from an outfit like Reuters... some kind of hedge, inclusion of a contrary point of view...something resembling responsible journalism maybe? Instead, we have one of the two primary mass marketers of "news content" (AP being the other) regurgitating what seems to clearly be the minority view regarding this weather feature without any acknowlegement as it being such.

With respect to the alleged comment by Fox News, however, I'd say not surprised by that in the least. :roll:

They should enlist some of our storm2k members to tell them the chances are rather low for any development 8-)

Yep Gatorcane, however, it is interesting to see the psychological "hangover" from the unfortunate events of the last couple of years manifest itself in the early reporting of the media and, to a lesser extent, the comments posted in this forum so far this season. Understandable, but interesting nonetheless....

Thanks to the pro-mets for sticking it out with us hobbyists. Without you, this forum would be far less than it is. Patience of Job, you guys!

As a South Floridan, I know how many blue tarps are still out there on roofs (shoot, Ivan's victims on the Panhandle still haven't recovered yet and that guy was the real deal). As much as I am fascinated by these systems, I say go away bad storms!

Now, back to this long-shot of an ULL...

I believe Fox, Reuters, and other news outlets and are simply interpreting what TPC said in the TWO, as something that has more potential to develop into a TS, then it really has. Of course here, most members who have been reading this stuff for years know better.

doesn't look like much too me but a swirl. And it is over the gulfstream. You would think you would get some thunder storms to build around it. :roll:

But it is alway fun to come here and read what other have to say. If they are right or wrong.

Looks to be some building TStorms alittle but pressures remain high but go a couple hundred miles S http://www.ndbc.noaa.gov/station_page.php?station=42058 and the pressures seem to be dropping some.Yea just heard on the local radio that the TPC is watching and that is about it.These ULL's take awhile to get to the surface if they do if the TS persist maybe something is happening but pressures do not indicate that yet.

It may be nothing, but I do enjoy watching the loops and viewing nature do some amazing things...that's what always gets me. So far today in the west Palm Beach area nothing but blue sky and some clouds...would like to have some more rain though.

yes that bouy was dropping but it was just as low yesterday at this time before it went up again

and the media's job is to report stories and modifying there importance gets more attention (hello this is not the first time the media make things sound more intresting or threating than reality) they make a science of using parts of statements and construct them using more suggestive words and by the time they are done doing this to form a story the result is a lot of minor changes result in a major difference between reality and perception

p.s should i feel weird that i can't wait for beryl to form, c'mon just form somewhere and get this board CRANKING

I wish it would form. There is a chance when this sends a low just east of ga/sc around 48 to 60 hours. But after that any chance for anything tropical go down...

It's not showing anything, so Im starting to look at the 2007 hurricane season. right now Im thinking 50/30/20 but if we dont get the first named storm before January 2nd, then I think it will be another boring season
