It slows everything down and screws up my Firefox. After clicking on that link, I had to restart and lost everything I was working on. It drives me nuts as it does it a lot. Otherwise, my computer is lightning fast with a cable connection.
Not picking on you at all ronjon, everyone posts them...I'm just irritated with Java.

I also use Firefox and don't seem to have any problems. I do find, however, the very first time I visit a site with Java, it takes a little while to load, but once that java has loaded for the first time, any other site with java pops up in a jiffy!

Did y'all download and install the latest update? I didn't realize that Firefox was set to do that automatically and the problems started after the latest update, about a month or so ago. It's driving me nuts...I can't even look at sat loops anymore because after waiting on it for a while to load (which it will occasionally), I see that Firefox has stopped running and after I "end task" on everything since it's frozen up, I can't open Firefox again without restarting my computer, and thus, losing anything I was working on. It's beyond frustrating. My connection is fast and loops used to load quickly, but being the weather nut I am, I have to be able to look at sat loops. I've tried the Firefox support message board, but so far, not much help. I think I'm just going to get the latest IE and dump Firefox.

Most likely causes:
You are not connected to the Internet.
The website is encountering problems.
There might be a typing error in the address.

I've been clicking on "setup" because the "add" option is under dial-up. There's also a LAN connection option at the bottom.
I had whatever IE6 came on this computer when I bought it last year as I immediately downloaded Firefox and have been using that. I wonder if Microsoft has a phone number as all email support I've ever tried never seems to address the problem correctly. It's usually a form letter for something other than what my problem is.
I do have RoadRunner.
