Just follow the directions on the page. Make sure you do EACH step in order.

Daniel

Once you download and install the Team Speak Client you will need the following information to connect to the Team Speak Server. The following procedures will also help in the security of the server and the shows.

#1 Start up Team Speak Client

#2 At the top click on Connection

#3 Click on Quick Connect

#4 A small window will appear, fill out the box with this information:

Server Address

216.127.93.22:8767

Nick Name

Use your Storm2k nickname or if you are not a member of Storm2k choose a name you like. However, priority is to Storm2k members and they have the right to their nicknames.

Please leave blank, until your are registered!!

Password

storm2k

Connect

Once in Virtual Studio:

#5 Right click on your nickname and at the bottom click on allow registration.

#6 At the top click on Self and select Register with Server a small window will appear it will ask you for the following information:

Login Name:

Use your nickname

Password:

Whatever you want it to be!

Click Ok and then you will be a registered member of the server!

#7 Disconnect from Server

#8 Reconnect using quick connect and make sure you fill out both the nickname and login name fields should be the same. Then fill out your password you just registered with the server.

If you show up as Guest then you did not fill out your nickname. If you have an U next to your name then you did not fill out login name. Both violations will get you kicked from server and you will have to fix it to reconnect.

Once registered you will be able use the chat room and speak to members. Once a show starts you will lose the right to speak until you are called. However you will be able to hear the show and continue to chat (text).

Hope you enjoy this new experience!

It's already installed by me. Which directions are you referring to? I already went through the installation process.

Ok, open up Teamspeak and go to Quick Connect. Enter the IP address that it shows on the instructions, and follow the other directions for the password and stuff. Once you're in, just double click on Talkin' Tropics and you're there. You can then register with the server if you like.

Right click on the bottom where the chat is, and hit "Send Text Message To All". Or....you can right click on one of the members in the list and send a private message to that person.

Mike Watkins said that he thinks activity in the Atlantic will pick up by mid August.

I disagree with that. It will pick up sooner then that.

Also, during the first hour I laid down on a couch and almost fell asleep listening to those guys talking. That is no joke either. It's not because it was boring, I was tired to begin with.

Yeah we kept going for a while longer...we have a bad habit of taking longer than we plan each week...need to work on that.

Thanks to Mike Doran for calling in and spending an hour with us tonight...here's the archive page if you missed anything...

It was a great blessing coming on the show, Mike.

Anthony's question is another good one. When a storm landfalls, one way you can look at it from the perspective that a hurricane organizes static fields like a capacitive coupler, that the 'C' goes to zero, the voltages go to infinity. See

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Capacitance

So what happens with the charges that are stored in the upper atmosphere coupled to the ocean is there are greater voltages that are then able to short to ground through the fairly resistive atmosphere . . . this is a consistant thing with ALL tropical storms that landfall.
