Yeah I noticed first thing this morning. Also I noticed it went a bit wacko too. It said at the bottom: total users on line is 47, but talkin tropic said there were 91 viewing, and off topic said something like 32 viewing. I know my math is bad but 91+32 is way higher that 47.

BTW I like the new feature, I guess there is a few kinks that needs to be worked out. :P

I'm not sure it is correct. I was on earlier with I think two other users and five guests yet some forums claimed to have 100 people reading them.

Yes and I don't think it is correct unless there are some unregister user viewing the forums.

Some forums can be seen by "guests".

Also, the forums list those that are "browsing" the forum and not necessarily posting. When you post, your userid disappears.

Yeah, it appears to be having some simple math issues

Or, more likely, it's that the thing at the bottome displays the users active over the past five minutes, and the forums are pulling users active over some longer time interval.
It could also be that it's counting total view over a 5 minute period and not correctly identifying people by their user id's, so that if you view, post, and return to forum, that counts as two viewers.

I really don't know anything other than the fact that I tend to overanalyze things like this.

It's possible that it is within a 5 minute time frame like the "who's on online" feature. People could be jumping around from forum to forum.

Also it may be that some people have more than one window up with s2k open.

It is a combination of a few things. Like stated there is a time frame.. IE: over last 5 minute etc.. But also, it will show bots and bots dont show at the bottom of the page as being on the forum.. When I say bots I mean search engine bots.. Like Google Spidering (witch is actually a good thing)

I tend to do the same thing.

Chad, thanks for the simple reasoning behind it. And yes that is a good thing. :D
