The story I read and the most outstanding photo I saw were on the Top News Section on AOL. Forgot to get the URL so that I can post on this site but it's there for all to see. FWIW, the Volcano Live site is reporting that Mt. Etna and Mayon Volcano in the Philippines are acting up now.

Ecuador volcano continues to erupt
Monday, July 17, 2006 (Tungurahua):
http://www.ndtv.com/morenews/showmorest ... s&id=90279
Explosions of incandescent rock lit up the night sky on Sunday as Tungurahua volcano, located 135 kilometres (85 miles) south of the Ecuadorean capital of Quito, continued to erupt.
Some 3,700 people have been evacuated since Friday, when the 5,015-metre-high (16,550-foot-high) volcano began expelling toxic gases and at least four lava flows - the first since it became active nearly seven years ago.
Although villagers have been forced to leave communities around the crater, there are no plans to evacuate the nearby town of Banos, which is protected from the falling ash by a small mountain range.
Although villagers have lost livestock and seen crops destroyed by the volcano, no injuries have been reported.
Ecuadorean President Alfredo Palacio toured the affected area during the weekend and announced it would receive $4.9 million in aid to recover from the volcano.
A state of emergency was declared in May when Tungurahua began emitting its loudest and most frequent explosions since it rumbled back to life in 1999 after being inactive for eight decades.
Wind has carried ash from the explosions up to 120 kilometres (75 miles) west of the volcano. (AP)

Scientists are getting more worried that a volcano in Indonesia is going to erupt soon.
Mount Merapi has been threatening to blow for weeks, but on Thursday the largest cloud of gas so far burst out from it.
The volcano has been on the highest alert status for almost a month now, meaning it is ready to erupt.
Officials said more than 18,000 people have left their homes near the volcano, although some have stayed behind.
The ground near volcanoes is very good for growing crops in, and some villagers don't want to leave their farms until they have to.
It's feared thousands of villages could be covered in ash and lava if Merapi does erupt.
Indonesia has at least 129 active volcanoes, including Mount Merapi which killed 60 people in 1994. In 1930 a further 1,300 people were killed when it erupted.
The volcano is close to the area that was hit with a huge earthquake on 27 May, which killed 5,800 people and left more than 420,000 people homeless.
