Looks like this is getting uglier... Israel also struck the Palestinian Foreign Ministry in Gaza.

Really, so killing civs instead of the illegal militia is the norm? Wow, new one to me. If your gonna start a war then kill the target and not the civs. There is absolutely no justification for killing so many civs (and no hez's) and fail to target the intended subject.

You completely missed Kevin's point... he was kind'a sort'a supporting a viewpoint similar; but thankfully not entirely, similar to yours. I'm sure he'll correct me if I'm reading it wrong.

My response to Kevin would be this... so when an entire state, rendered little more than a puppet for a terrorist organization, refuses to do what is necessary to reign those terrorists in, the "state" of Israel is bound to play by the Marquis of Queensbury rules, while the terrorist-run state is allowed all the dirty tricks? Frankly, while you might well answer yes to that--I would say no, and even HELL no. Hezbollah needs to be squashed. They've instigated this, they're perpetuating it, and they need to get one major ***-kicking.

NO I really dont grasp your arguement! Israel is striking targets that they deem crucial to supressing the terrorists...if that means civillians are also present then unfortunately they become collateral damage. I believe Israel is doing just what they need to do to protect themselves. This constant blaming of Israel is really getting old. If hiding in civillian buildings and using guerella warfare is the way Hezbollah wants to fight then Israel has the right to fight back WITHOUT RESTRAINT!

Smash the militia (Hezbollah), but don't just start bombing anywhere and everywhere and not give a care about who gets killed.

Ummmm... are you even following what's been going on, and/or the history of Hezbollah? What you're suggesting would be nice, but this isn't a Walgreen's War, and they're not fighting in "Perfect". Hezbollah is a bunch of unmitigated COWARDS, who after they do their dirty work...meld into the general populace decidedly for the purpose of causing collateral damage in the event of a counter-strike so that naive people will condemn the victim, instead of the perp. If Hezbollah wants to "fight" so badly, then let them come out from the general population instead of using them for shields. The real UGLY cowards in all this are the Hezbollah... not the Israelis.

NO I really dont grasp your arguement sic (argument)! Israel is striking targets that they deem crucial to supressing the terrorists...if that means civillians are also present then unfortunately they become collateral damage. I believe Israel is doing just what they need to do to protect themselves. This constant blaming of Israel is really getting old. If hiding in civillian buildings and using guerella sic (guerilla) warfare is the way Hezbollah wants to fight then Israel has the right to fight back WITHOUT RESTRAINT!

Wow, your middle-eastern foreign policy is quite elementary. (winks)

I highly doubt Israel is targeting straight out crucial sites.

They can certainly protect themselves but even the U.S. and Canada have asked Isreal to show restraint.

Uhhh... Nooooo!, the Palestinians in Gaza are also responsible for their unwavering support for Hamas--yet ANOTHER terrorist group who'd kidnapped another Israeli soldier down in that area... Israel gave these people their autonomy, and (as I'd expected anyway) this is the thanks they get. The Palestinians, and other rabid terrorist groups in that area will NEVER let up until Israel ceases to exist as a nation.... or they are utterly wiped out themselves.

Frankly, I much prefer the latter scenario.

So, drawing this to a logical conclusion... the "crushing of Hezbollah" you claim "must" happen.... Ain't gonna happen???

And is Israel, therefore, supposed to just sit back and let these cowardly cretins continue to lob missiles and do all sorts of other treachery without a response?

.... Ain't Gonna Happen!

1979? Iranian Hostage Crisis?

Possibility, Brent... I'm just curious to know who our esteemed intern thinks is responsible for precipitating it.

You think maybe we can acknowledge that people can have a different OPINION than you without being "elementary" or "ill informed?" Really ruins a good debate and makes people take your points much less seriously.

What you "highly doubt" is equally indicative of your "Middle-Eastern Foreign Policy" (doesn't wink!)

Some people don't seem to understand the situation as well as others, at least that's how I see it. Any compassion whatsoever for Hezbollah is beyond me! Anyway, let's not turn this thread into one big argument - it is/was quite informative....I don't like where it's headed though.

The Iran Hostage Crisis was the beginnging (IMHO). The U.S. was ignoring this alarm going off. The 2001 Trade Center bombing was the wake up call and now it is too late. Eventually, we will be dragged into this crap.
