'99...i miss it a lot up there...especially in the fall and around Christmas. I can do without the snow in February. I've come to like Florida though, especially during hurricane season

Nope..we moved down August 1st...i remember that they were forecasting it to come through Florida...we had a 100% chance of rain that day...my mom was bringing in the outside furniture before i went to school. We got one thrunderstorm that day, tyhats all....My dad was up in Albany, NY for a business trip and he said he got pounded with rain and flooding...took him a day or so to get out of Albany after the rain stopped. But I still talked to my friends in Philly along with my relatives and they said it was bad there with the rain and all.

The run-up before landfall, the anticipation....even though she knocked my power out for quite some time, Wilma's re-strengthening over the S. Gulf that night was making for great drama. Every frame on the satellite, you could see her getting her act together over the Loop current, in spite of that major trough to her north.

.....that first squall band that comes through with the strangely green-looking lightning. Sometimes you can get that without even a landfall. The squalls we got over here in SE FL from Dennis and Charley in particular as they crossed Cuba were quite good.
