Can you insert a table in a post?

#1 Postby coriolis » Sun Jul 16, 2006 9:15 pm

I know that you can copy and paste from Notepad and Word into a topic.
It seems that the board doesn't support tables. I created a little table in word and copied it here. Obviously the columns are lost. Is there any way to do it here?

Democrats Republicans
People who wear hats 29% 71%
People who wear boxer shorts 36% 64%
Sandals with Socks 98% 2%
Baseball caps with logos 14% 86%

below, I went in and added spaces, underlines, etc. to sort of resemble a column.

Democrats | Republicans
People who wear hats 29% | 71%
People who wear boxer shorts 36% | 64%
Sandals with Socks 98% | 2%
Baseball caps with logos 14% | 86%

If we create a table, could we save it as an image file of some sort and insert it in a topic?

I agree with LaPlaceFF. It does not allow you to center anything up here. It scrunches everything together. BTW like the topic intresting results.

Looks like you have to buy software. I googled around, and there are converter programs that work as a virtual printer, to create a jpeg out of a doc.

Of course the programs cost $30, $50, $60.

Looking for freeware.......

Couldn't you take a screen capture and crop it (in MS paint or photoshop)?

You can use the Code tags. You may have to shift them around a little to get it right...just use the preview button to check it. Ed, hit Edit or Quote and you'll see what I mean.

Code: Select all

                                      Democrats     Republicans
People who wear hats                     29%             71%
People who wear boxer shorts             36%             64%
Sandals with Socks                       98%             2%
Baseball caps with logos                 14%             86%

Thanks Kelly, I'll play around with that and some of the other suggestions when I get some breathing room.
