How do you shave and what do you shave with?

When I shave, I use the 4 razor, but for some reason it doesn't give me a close shave. Does anyone know where I can get a razor that will satisfy my need for a close shave? Do you soap or shaving cream? Do you shave dry? I do whatever doesn't irritate my skin. How about you.

I happened to be watching some TV show where someone recommended shaving with a blade immediately after getting out of the shower (leaving the face wet with warm water). You can even shave in the shower. Then you shave first with the grain, then against the grain. It's definitely the best for me. If I'm in a hurry I just use a norelco electric shaver, but it's definitely not as good.

I shave with soap while taking my shower. If I'm in a hurry I will just make one pass with the grain otherwise I will go with and against. I also use a Norelco for a quick shave but it usually doesn't go that close.

In the shower with soap and a hand mirror. The hairs on my neck go around in a circle, so I have to shave it north, south, east, and west. I use a two-blade disposable razor that my wife also uses on her legs & etc. I don't mind the legs, but I wonder about the & etc.

I think that the 3, 4, 5, and 6 blade razors are a triumph of marketing. It's like an arms race.

I use a Mach 3 with gilette gel. Usually after taking a shower.

Sometimes I can't stand nature. I shave twice a day before the lousy hair tries to even grow at all. Normally I use an electric one - then splash some quick water on my face.
I wish facial hair would just stop growing all together. :grr:

I don't even like going to the bathroom. Can't the body just not absorb all this stuff by itself, solid and liquids without all the inconvenience ?
Wish it would be more efficient !

Oh God I hate shaving, and if you saw my face, it'd be obvious. :grr:

I've found that every razor I've tried will pretty much take the skin off if you aren't careful. That's my problem, as I get razor burn like crazy. The solution is the Protector blade (Schick I think) - it has wire wrapped around it. I have yet to get nicked or burned from it. The shave is close enough for me, as the alternative is both painful and unsightly. I don't buy the logic of the multi-blade razors - yes, you are using fewer strokes, but more blades are still scraping along your skin. Where's the difference? (razor burn)

I use the Schick SLIM ST with Edge Sensitive Skin shaving cream.......I used to use an electric shaver but I didn't like, not close enough. Now about 2 years ago I NEVER touched a razor, I had a beard down to my chest and hair down to the middle of my back........of course I had to change and clean up my act.

I use a Mach 3. I used to think it was all marketing, but it really does work better than my old 2 bladed razors.

I always shave in the shower - the warm water softens up the beard. Don't bother with shaving cream - just a little soap.
