#1 Postby JonathanBelles » Mon Jul 17, 2006 9:03 pm

hey i've had this game since christmas last year an im still having troubles, im using a boeing 747-400 and i can surface, level off, and do perfect landings, but i cannot take off of the the runway. i push full throttle, pull back on the stick 10 degrees, and i either leave the ground a mile after the end of the runway, or get up and stall in the air, help???

Is the runway long enough? I have had FS2004 for a couple of years now and haven't had any problems. You can't take the 744 off at Meigs, however.

Next time you take off from Meigs be sure to give Mayor Dailey (sp?) the bird! :grr:

Meigs is the default airport in Chicago that FS2004 starts you out at...Very short runway with water on the end.

If that isn't your problem, it may be the trim. Be sure your num lock light is off (right next to the caps and scroll lock lights on your keyboard) and hold down the 1 key on the number pad. That will adjust your trim and should pitch you higher.

Also, be sure to wait until you are at a fast speed (probably at least 150 KTS for the 747) before you start to pull back on the stick. You probably already know this stuff, but it is hard trying to fix a problem over the internet so I'm just giving you everything that is popping in my head!

Sorry, I had you confused. I was thinking of an older version of Flight Simulator that came out before Meigs was demolished!

Aside from my other two suggestions, I'm stumped.

I sometimes do this when I fly the jumbo jets. Are you using enough flaps at takeoff?
