Gator Invades Sabine Pass Home
Scott Lawrence

It was a wild Wednesday night for a family in Sabine Pass.

"My dogs are barking frantically outside," said homeowner Julie Lee. "I came outside to see what was happening, and I picked them all up and brought them in, and I also wanted to see what they were barking at. I looked under that truck, and there was an alligator under there."

Then the five foot long alligator crawled inside the family's Hurricane Rita-damaged home.

Like most families in Sabine Pass, they are living in a FEMA trailer while their home is being repaired.

The homeowner called police and then called the game warden.

Everyone watched while the game warden tried to corral the gator and get it out of the home.

After some fighting and twisting, the game warden got the gator out the front door-much to the relief of the homeowner.

"I feel wonderful now," said Lee. "I can get to my icebox and get my cold drinks out."

The gator wasn't done yet.

After the game warden put duct tape around the gator's jaws, it continued to resist arrest.
The gator finally was thrown in the back of the truck and taken away.

We want to thank 6 Shooter L.D. Ray for being brave enough to shoot the video for us.

 I did not gators were that far west. You hear alot of those kind of stories here. How frightning! Good thing she swooped up the dogs in time or they would have made a good snack for the gator.
