IMHO, this is an outrage.
I fear the long ago Sept. to May, former first run episode schedule, is a complete and utter thing of the past.
That network is going to hear from me!
SIX weeks? That is not nearly long enough for this Lost fan. Oh noooo.............thanx Brent. You sure got me fired up! LOL

Mary - just click on an old TV show's schedule, episode summary list on epguides, and you'll see that we rarely had reruns growing up. Brand new episodes usually began in Sept and continued for weeks and months! In this case, things do really change. Do the networks honestly believe we want 4 or 6 weeks of first run episodes, then a string of reruns and in this case, wait months before our beloved favorite show returns to the air?
The only time of year I appreciate reruns would the holidays. That's about it!
Another thing......nearly everyone I know has some sort of recording device known to mankind, to tape first run episodes. So even if you had a busy schedule (the holiday season), you'd still program a first run episode to record! In other words, I wouldn't announce - darn, can't watch Lost tonight, I have to xmas shop.....no I'd still shop, but record it and watch it by 11 p.m. Okay, to be really, really honest I wouldn't be shopping on Wednesdays, at 9 p.m. (not when Lost is on!!!) but my point is, even if we get busy, if you faithfully watch a current show, you will record it. Reruns aren't necessary!
Ah, but it all comes down to ratings I guess.
The old 9 month no-rerun schedule is a thing of the past. And now I sound like my parents generation about something changing...and not for the best!
My little rant is over. But I will write to this network. That look that Jack and Kate exchanged, on the dock, meant something. I would love it if they gave us 6 weeks, of 2 hour episodes, to really get into the next season's storylines. No way will they do that. They'll give us 6 stinking episodes, a ton of commercials and teasers that will run endlessly, for months until it's return.
An outrage, I tell you. That is exactly what this is!
OR, maybe the actors want a longer break with family, on the mainland? That could have entered into it possibly. It must be torture to film in Oahu!!!! LOL

Okay gang. I'm going to lock this because of the number of pages. We usually lock threads, especially in the TT forum that go over 25 pages because it's a drain on the server to load so many pages each time someone enters it. We're going to continue with the same "rule of thumb" in the other forums as well. You can start a new thread - I'll take care of doing that for this one.
