I'm still hoping for an "average" season - with so many problems facing the US at this time, the last thing anyone needs is another Katrina situation, since Federal resources are already spread very thin, here and overseas, so, keep the crow, and, perhaps some here need a bit of maturing, especially when it comes to having the odd desire of seeing another disaster in the making...
If losing the home to Hurricane Andrew didn't teach me anything else, it was to appreciate a quiet day - I heard someone say the very same thing (about another natural disaster) in a recent episode of Storm Stories...

Found some new ways to do it...
http://www.crowbusters.com/recipes.htm
Crow Casserole
Ingredients
12 pieces of crow breast meat (no bones) (6 crows)
2 quart sauerkraut
6 slices of bacon
1/3 cup of chopped onions
Preparation
Brown the crow breasts in a skillet with butter or oil. When browned, place them in a casserole dish on 1/2 inch layer of sauerkraut. Lay a 1/2 strip of bacon on each 1/2 breast and sprinkle the onion on them. Next, add another layer of sauerkraut and some of the juice. Bake at 350 degrees for 2 hours. Makes 2 servings.

There were two points to my post SouthFloridawx and I guess you missed both of them so I'll explain. One, the minor point that people who judge a season by June and July activity are making a big mistake. There are 3 classes of people in Storm2K, expert, informed and novice. Since 2004 this board has grown by leaps and bounds and unless you say it's a joke outright better than 1/3 of this board doesn't realize that. Most of us old-timers around here laugh at such posts some that are new might take them seriously. Some of the posts were NOT jokes either.
Secondly, people making categorical statements in the absolute about a weather system (any weather system) need to remember weather is fluid dynamics the word dynamic being part of the science, and to state a system is "dead," cannot develop and "has no chance" closes the door on one's own options. I value opinions and when I see the words "I think because" or "I don't believe because" I read them for the thought process involved.
The hurricane season is not a box score nor is it a beat the NHC contest. The vast majority on this board are not weather geeks (nothing wrong with being a weather geek I am one) they come here for a source of information because to them their lives, their families lives, their homes and everything they hold dear go on the roulette wheel every June 1st. When someone posts "I want to be in a hurricane" it shows they've never seen the roof ripped off their home, wondered if their parents were still alive or stood in line for a bag of ice for 3 hours only to have it half melt in a 90+ degree dark musty house that's all they have left.
In the last few years a lot of newcomers came on this board and began shouting down everyone's opinion if it differs with their own. Board etiquette rules got stretched pretty thin. Chad, David, Luis and all other mods have done a fantastic job reminding people what Storm2K stands for. I applaud their efforts it's a job well done. I'm simply reminding people the old saying "never say never" usually applies to weather in general and tropical cyclones in particular.
Have a great SouthFloridawx I like reading your posts.

I agree, and, I enjoy watching a hurricane spin as much as the next person, but, as we all know, they don't just sit in the middle of the ocean, not bothering anyone - and that's the issue when it comes to hurricanes and crowded coastal areas - it'd be fine if no one lived along them, but, millions do...

By the way, late last evening MSNBC ran one of their Katrina documentaries, and, the segment I happened to see showed the chaos at the Superdome in the days after it passed. One particular image was very shocking, and, I wish every person here had seen it - it was of a woman and young man, who were struggling to pull a handtruck down the sidewalk, that held the body of a family member who had drowned several days earlier.
Again, that is why I appreciate a quiet day since Hurricane Andrew - even if it is boring at times...

wow, I haven't been here in awhile, but I didn't know anyone actually declared this a "dead" season. True it may end up being a slower or not as active year as the last 2, but we won't know if that's going to be for sure until Mid August....
I think alot of it's because of the media and because of last year. Last year was a freakshow. Last year probably won't EVER happen again.
Give me 5 strong Fish storms to track that go away from mainland and islands and I'll be happy

In related news, the common crow has been added to the endangered species list due to the development of Beryl...
You'd think crow would have gone extinct after last season.
