'Jeopardy' champ Ken Jennings blasts show
NEW YORK (AP) - "Jeopardy!" ace Ken Jennings, who won $2.5 million during his 74-game winning streak, has a few unkind words to say about the show — and dapper host Alex Trebek.
"I know, I know, the old folks love him," Jennings writes in a recent posting, titled "Dear Jeopardy!" on his Web site.

I just love that Ken Jennings "Jeopardy" parody on Mad TV.

This is what he has to say. Just cause he's smart doesn't mean he's a nerd. What do you consider a nerd anyway?

I read the article and it didn't say anything about him joking that was linked. IMO he said what he thought and then he regretted it. Be careful what you write on the internet for the world to see...it can come back to bite you in your rear.

Look guys, Jennings was writing a comedic bashing of the show, which was in no way meant to be more than humorous. The man has been associated with NAQT (quiz bowl) for years, and I know how quiz bowlers are, we are a mostly irreverent and sarcastic bunch who love to string together non sequiturs.
Quiz bowl players are intentionally screened out of Jeopardy contests, otherwise you'd see people playing much more impressive games than one normally sees. He was only lucky that they didn't screen him because he didn't come out and say he was in Quiz Bowl. Ken Jennings isn't even the top brain bowler, not even close, but he's a damn smart person and was able to win all that money of Jeopardy. Since he did it through his own brain, I don't see why he should feel like he owes Jeopardy anything.
*shrugs*
Generally people like him believe in questioning everything and poking fun at most things. And sometimes they get served hemlock or made to be ''wrong headed'' in the public eye. Its an old story.

I guess since i'm not "a quiz bowler" i don't know anything or how to read a persons sarcastic type.
Read it...just read what he said, not putting his or your sarcastic spin on it...it comes out not too nice towards the jeopardy people/show. As you all well know you can't tell a persons tone in black type.

Yeah I totally understand the confusion these news articles are causing. I really don't understand the problem.
For those wondering, here is the link to what he wrote. And anyone can be the judge, because I can't really presume to know what Jennings meant, it just seems to me he was being less serious than portrayed.
