Sandy soil vs Black Jack mud.

That's the point. Gumbo soil doesn't soak up the rain very well. It does make good ponds though. :lol:

We finally got the roof repaired in my apartment! Great timing for that.

Unfortunately - the boyfriend has to ride the bicycle to work today. :(

Is the low moving fast enough to push this stuff outta here anytime soon?

Looking at radar and visible, it seems as if that one continuous blob off of Corpus is still there after 12/16 hrs and looks to be expanding inland...

There is LOTS of sfc coonvergence out there...both speed and directional...and there is a good vort max/upper low moving through on top of it. Looks like the bulk of it will land around lunch time and into mid afternoon.

wow! At the pier those winds are about as strong as anything you would expect in a weak T.S. landfall! The wind report I was looking at was from the airport.

latest from Galveston Scholes field airport:

Wind Speed: S 30 G 40 MPH

It is even stronger at the immediate coast though. According to AFM's post, the current winds at the pier are:

sustained = ~37-38mph
gusting to = ~57mph

Surface obs don't seem to show the surface low inland anymore and HPC has taken it off it latest surface analysis map. Just South to SE winds there. It's pretty much dissapated now. Looks like another MLC developing offshore SE of Galveston Bay. I give it .01% chance of developing to the surface. :D

I noticed that!!!! that blob offshore looks impressive and I see hints of a rotation.
Add that to the sustained 30mph winds in Galveston. hmmm......

Noticed that...

Looks as if the edge is finally moving west to east, down there from Victoria to Corpus.

Almost as if the energy of the UL is moving NE...

Could be some imressive RR's setting up this afternoon.
