yes, it could be the low that the GFS is forecasting to be the first Cape Verde system for next week, although it may be a bit early.

I posted a comment about this already in the thread regarding the Cape Verde Low and Leeward islands 8-)

I'm not sure if you can consider it early anymore. Next week we are already in August! It's hard to believe.

I wouldn't give it a thought until I see it come off, 85% of these things poof as soon as they hit water.

Too far north for development? IMO that is the perfect latitude for any possible development in the E Atlantic.

I agree 100%. They cancelled the CV parade last year, and i don't expect a very busy CV season this year. :D

Hopefully if we do have CV storms they won't be long trackers that make their way into the Caribbean and eventually the GOM, those are the ones that usually stay over warm water long enough for them to be Majors.

I think the conditions are too hostile this year. Yes, i know things can change in the next month.

In July it isn't. SST's are too cool.

EDIT: I was looking at the wrong sat. Yeah, it is at a good latitude for development if it was August or September.
