Can you customize it like FireFox? I am talking about extensions, themes, etc?

No - since IE7 is designed for Vista, which has the new Aero interface (all of the tan/blue stuff you see in XP is see-through to your desktop), Microsoft claims that customizing like Firefox is pointless, and refuses to add it, despite numerous requests.
