I hate to be terribly blunt, but this thing has jsut about enough chance to develop as the Houston Texans have to win the Superbowl.

That was cold.

no joke......at least we have a football team that doesnt want to bail after a hurricane...

Talking about Houston's sports, you can compare it also with the Astros. A baseball team since the early sixties and so far only one appearance in the World Series, and they were swept by the White Sox four straight games.

got to be Sat night for sports to get into a 99L invest discussion....

Until a surface circulation forms, any convective burst will not mean much in the longhaul. I doubt this thing will do much anymore. Expecting this wave to form into a hurricane is like expecting an entry level mini-golf player to become Arnold Palmer in a short period of time.

Its rediculous to expect much out of a blob of disorganized showers and pop-corn thunderstorms. It's just a wave and is likely to remain just that.......

I love baseball, so I would compare 99L possibility to become a depression with the Kansas City Royals possibility to win the World Series.

Moreover, I'm a Marlin fan by heart. A history of only fourteen years and already 2 World Series. I don't know why the Miami area doesn't support their local team. Better, almost impossible for a young team!!!

Well after watching happy gilmore, I guess it is possible, so maybe there's a slight chance this wave can do just that.

So... you're saying that if this was 1985, 99L would become a depression?

Boy... do I wish the days of George Brett were still upon us.

Well, at least I'm still winning the bet that my team (KC) will end up the worst team in MLB.

To make you feel better I also though about using the Pirates and/or the Rays.

Continuing the WAY OFF SUBJECT subject..

The reason that the community does not support the Marlins is that this is a transient community. Everyone is from somewhere else.
The Red Sox come to town and there are 35,000 there of which 25,000 are Boston fans.
Same when the Braves or Cubs come in . There are more fans of the opposing team then of the home team Marlins.

Besides, this is Dolphin country since the team has been here 40 years and people who have grown up here have been life long fans.
The life long fans of the Marlins who grew up with them are about 14 years old and need Mom or Dad to drive them to a game!

Give it time, although they may leave before that time has a chance to come....
This spoken by me, a native of Miami ( I grew up with The Fins and have been a fan for 40 years so I will always be a life long fan of the team.)

Hey - I think the Texans are on the right track with Kubiak in charge.

Anyway -- I've been mostly lurking. Nothing has really piqued my interest just yet. This low has been hanging around pretty far south and the other one needs another day or so of sustained convection IMO.

I agree....though 99L looks to be consolidating more North ATTM. Maybe WX57 was on to something with a change in structure. Looks to be doing just that. The other one has lost some of its punch. Will be interesting to see if it maintains or continues to fizzle over night.

So far no change in orgainzation, but the fact that convection is still near the area of low pressure suprises me. Hopefully the diurnal maximum will pull through this time.

Wasn't the pressure 1009mb last night? Well, according to the Navy site ( http://www.nrlmry.navy.mil/tc_pages/tc_home.html ), it's fallen to 1008mb. (The tooltip that pops up when your your mouse is placed on the photo gives this information.)

I wouldn't write 99L off quite yet, folks.
