I don't like the new GFS. Shows a strong hurricane just north of the islands around August 9. That's when my cruise is supposed to be in that area.

Well, the good thing with cruises is that they can be routed elsewhere if there's severe weather on the planned course.

I'm sure you'll have a great time regardless.

Not just the GFS

I Googled up "experimental mm5fsu" and clicked on the first site that turned up. It shows six models, including the GFS. I found out that this storm appears not just on the GFS but also on the Canadian model (CMC), NOGAPS, and MM5. In fact, the CMC shows TWO storms coming off the Africa coast. UKMET shows just the barest trace of a storm, but still shows it. I could not get any results for GFDL since that requires that you have a name for your storm, and as yet there is no name for this storm- they haven't invested it yet.
