I thought these threads from last year might spark some new ideas since the season seems to be ramping up:

From dixiebreeze's last year's thread:
important thing you learned after surviving a hurricane/tropical storm so far this year:
For example, I learned you can't have too much water or ice or canned tuna Also, that I HAVE to find a way to make coffee in a power outage!
My interpretation:
He with the biggest generator wins! (at least in the first 3 days)
In the long run, the one with the most batteries for the fan has the most friends!

Interesting to note, as of August 1 2005:
We were through with Gert (Jul 23-25) and awaiting Harvey (Aug 2-8)
BUT, as of August 1, 2004:
We were experiencing Alex (Jul 31- Aug 6) and awaiting Bonnie (Aug 3-13)
Interesting stats for those thinking 06 is a BUST!

Except I believe Alex was born on the 31st.

2004 was interesting. Nothing for two months, not even a depression, then everything just went nuts.

SORRY! You're Correct. I printed out NHC.NOAA season maps for 05 & 06 and the print is very tiny! Paul
