NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SAN JUAN PR
414 AM AST TUE AUG 1 2006

.DISCUSSION...
THE TROPICAL DEPRESSION HAS INTENSIFIED A BIT OVERNIGHT. SENT OUT FORECAST PACKAGE EXPECTING TO POSSIBLY UPDATE FOR NEW TCP ADVISORY BY 5AM. LATEST MODELS STILL SHOWING MOVEMENT JUST TO THE NORTHEAST OF PR. ALTHOUGH THE LATEST SATELLITE SHOWING MOVEMENT A LITTLE MORE WESTWARD. THE BAMM SHOWS SYSTEM MOVING BETWEEN THE USVI AND THEN OVER NE PR. THEREFORE IF STORM DOES INTENSIFY AND BECOME VERTICALLY DEEPER THEN THE TRACK SHOULD BE FURTHER LEFT OR SOUTH OF WHAT IT WAS. WILL WAIT FOR FURTHER GUIDANCE AND ADVISORIES AND WILL UPDATE FORECAST ACCORDINGLY.

Yes I agree I truly believe that Chris has formed. Maybe not a monster but after being here all day it was neat to watch all of the debates and then this thing form against all odds.

Yes, but it still says Noname. I don't think TPC has alerted them to an official upgrade yet.

I see he's expected to reach 50kts in a couple of days. This system is apparently very tenacious.
