Um, nope here
Right now, I don't have anything planned - will watch and see what progresses over the next couple of days. I do, however, have to go out and buy a baby shower gift for a shower this Sat., and we're house hunting Sunday, so we'll see how all that goes. If by tomorrow this is looking more like a threat to this area, I'll run out to BJ's for some water, top of the gas, etc., but that's about it. You??

Looking to buy a house in Ft. Myers?? I have one for sale

Anyway the only thing I would do towards the end of the week is make sure I have a full gas tank. That is always first to go with any kind of threat.

Of course. I always do everything the first week in June.
All that's left is to top off the gas and take some cash out of the ATM.
Oh, and, put up shutters if neccesary.

My plans include putting my house on the market and moving to say...rural (not coastal) North Carolina.
No, really my plans are to throw a temper tantrum, convulse and freak out that another storm MAY approach.
Honestly, didn't we just do this in October? My iron fence was just fixed in mid-July from Wilma. I've done alot of work on my patio/pool this summer so yeah....this would be a perfect time for a storm. (sarcasm!)
The good news is that the cone WILL shift and my own non-scientific theory states that those in the first cones will not likely be impacted by a storm. Also, Chris could get ripped apart by shear or mountains.
Even if Chris approaches us, I don't expect a run at the grocery/gas stations. Heck, Castro no longer rules Cuba, you know.......

Make sure you recycle out your old water and put in some fresh stuff. Nothing like old stale warm water... yuck!
Yeah, I do that on a continual basis through the season.

Okay, what's up Floridian's? Here in Louisiana this is all folks are talking about. We are still shell shocked from Rita and Katrina I guess. Our Home Depot and Lowe's moved the generators in the center aisles along with tarps, roofing nails, water containers, batteries and such and you should see the folks snatching it up. Oddly enough, FEEMA moved out yesterday. I'm still rebuilding but I've made darn sure I'm ready this go round. The house can be rebuilt (hopefully before another one hits). All I have to do is hook up my Wells Cargo and go. Seriously, I do have to load my hard drives, business records and Harleys first.

Ja - here's what's up, at least in S. FL....Fidel has relinquished his power for the first time ever, and all the Cubans in this area are rejoicing and were causing traffic issues last night, etc. Down here, that's been a bigger news story ALL day long
. However, now that they've found 63 mph estimated winds at the vortex (see the other threads), I have a feeling this story will become more prominent on the evening news. I, for one, will do what I have to do tomorrow, most likely, but I'll see what happens overnight.
