Johannesburg - The leader of a Pretoria-based youth organisation has issued a controversial statement by telling youth to go and steal from white people in the suburbs.

Faraday Nkoane, the leader of Uhuru cultural club, told 100 youngsters who attended the Human Rights Day celebration at Lebanon township park to go and steal from the whites because "it is the right thing to do.

"Stop stealing from black people because they will deal with you in an African way. They will bewitch you and you will go crazy. The whites have stolen from us since April 6, 1652. Our ancestors' cattle, goats, sheep, chickens and others are in the hands of the whites, while we are left with nothing. Go and steal from them because it is right.

"Taking from whites is not a crime because you repossess what belongs to you. But make sure you are not caught," said Nkoane, addressing the youth, most of whom were in Rastafarian colours.

When the Daily Sun approached him about his controversial statement that would cause hatred between South Africans, Nkoane said he stood by his statement because "nothing is wrong with it.

"Yes, nothing is wrong with my statement because the whites have stolen from the blacks.

"My statement doesn't promote any hatred because I did not call for violence against the whites. I only told the youth to go and repossess from them. If youth steal in the township it is crime, but if they steal from whites in the suburbs, it is not a crime because they are merely repossessing," said Nkoane.

He said he would not withdraw his statement because the government was doing nothing for unemployed youth.

Great thing to teach ANY youth from Any country......do onto others as badly as they do onto you... don't bother to try and save or change the world....
In my ignorance, I thought the rasta culture preached peace???

I think the Rasta's do preach peace...I think these guys just have it all wrong and basically on wear the colors. It sounds like what Mugabe does, giving all white owned land back to the blacks.

It is racist....but it seems some people only think the whites can be racist....it doesn't seem to work both ways.

Unfortunately, that is the case in some areas. Even though this is occuring in South Africa that has it's own set of racial problems, it does occur here in the good old US.

Oh yea, I love than when whites put down blacks, it is racist, but when the opposite happens... that's just fair play. I don't have all the answers, that's for sure, but this ain't right!!! I am teaching my daughter to not look at a person's color... just their character!!

Yeah... I doubt they were really rasta's... Likely just wearing the colours to make themselves seem cool by putting out the image of being drug users.. From my experience in this country the "rastas" are some of the nicest people I've come across... let's just hope the youth don't fall into some sad mans command spell of what they should do.

It is pathetic though that being racist tends to lean totally to one side,while if it's the other way it's called 'justice'... This country is fast on its way to being a 2nd zimbabwe

I am trying to teach my kids the same values but I am finding out it is easier said than done.

I certainly hope not. Zimbabwe is a total mess and the blame falls squarely on Mugabe's shoulders.

Mugabe seems to have a strange sense of reality, If there is one world leader that needs removing fom power it is him.
