Likely effect on late Sunday morning flight out of Orlando?

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Likely effect on late Sunday morning flight out of Orlando?

#1 Postby anjou » Tue Aug 01, 2006 5:38 pm

Ah. I know it's early yet. But assuming the present forecasts carry through, what if any impact would you expect Chris to have on a scheduled late Sunday morning flight out of Orlando International Airport, going up north? (Any recollections from past storms' experience?)

It looks like if all goes as expected there would be some rain and there's a 5% chance (per NHC wind forecast) of tropical storm force winds in the Orlando area around midday Sunday, if I read that right.

Well currently the forecast is for no special impact. It's hugging Cuba in the current forecast..

It looks like if all goes as expected there would be some rain and I'm not sure how strong winds in the Orlando area midday-ish Sunday.

If Chris moves through the FL Straights, it's such a small storm that you won't know it when it passes hundreds of miles south of Orlando.
