Hurricane tracking software question

Since Chris is dying down and the board is not so busy, I have a question.

I'm putting in a request from the teachers at a middle school nearby. They are looking for hurricane tracking software that younger students (4th grade and 6th grade) can use. The teachers are trying to introduce the topics of lattitude and longitude to the students and the lessons plans will introduce beginning meteorology.

Budgets are tight (aren't they always?) so the program needs to either be cheap or freeware that a typical schools computer lab can run(not tons of spy/adware), and again be simple enough for younger students to learn.

I know there are many programs out there, the problem I'm having is finding it easy to use and with lots of graphics. The kids can't visualize where a hurricane is based on a bunch of numbers. I'm hoping you all will have some suggestions.

i would suggest eye of the storm for kids...

Contact them and ask for an educational discount. I bet they would do it.

Eye of the Storm is a good choice. There's a free trial available http://www.starstonesoftware.com/eots/ and like Eric said above if the school contacted Starstone Software I bet they could get a free copy.
