thats still above average but look at it this way, we had Bret, Dennis, Floyd, and Irene.

If we had 5 named storms in one year and all 5 hit the U.S as majors, the media at least will call it active.

Skimming through the thread here reading to see if any one has mentioned this yet but with this talk about lowering numbers for the prediction and now the it's on the news I hope people do not start thinking about this season being a dull one and forget about the season and be caught off gaurd when on approaches.

It was mentioned last night that the lowering by CSU was also due to El Nino conditions that are now appearing in the Pacific - I thought that was the case, for a number of months. The shear we'd been seeing since last Fall (even during Wilma) was typical for El Nino conditions...
