Well, headed off at a very strange angle now . . . and that line isn't their direct path . . . as you can see from the longitude cloumn, they were rather wobbly as they were heading south, despite the lack of wind . . .

It looks like they just started flying south (no more west) around 1803 ... maybe they are looking.

Big area of very low winds, but all easterly or southeasterly so far.

There's a broad and brief switch from the SSE winds to east winds (not west!), and then they switch back to SSE winds by the end of the set, when they should be having W to SW winds in that area.

Now the 1809 set that we were waiting for has shown up on the page, but the 1819 set that should have come in by now isn't there. Can you find the 1819 set in the same place, WindRunner? Although I'll probably hang around here for awhile longer, you should take over posting the HDOB obs as well as the VDM when it comes in.

Recon isn't finding any west winds...

I think it might really be dead(at least temporarily) this time.

Wow, the center did just get annihilated. Last few visible images it looks clean in there. Maybe the center is opening up. Still awaiting a vortex message.

I think the outflow boundry (you can see the tstms complex collaps and the LLC clear out) wiped them out. If you look at the GHCC...you can watch the outflow boundry moving through where the LLC was. It is running into the coonvergent bands west of where the LLC was and is causing some spotty convection.

I think this is game, set, match for the time being. Regeneration always posible....but 5 knots of west wind just got creamed by 15 knots of outflow boundry.
