Yes they are, I just picked up on that as you posted. Doesn't look too promising for Chris' survival . . .

This will be the last advisory as the plane is returning to base.

I'll go ahead and post in here since we're done with this now . . .

The second column from the right is the plane's altitude in meters. Operational level is either around 300m, 1600m, or 3000m, depending on the storms intensity.

Altitude starts to go up in the set before that last one, and by the end of this one they're at 24,000 feet - cruising altitude.

Yes, I thought they might do that - recon missions are expensive, and, there are enough observing stations in the Bahamas and Cuba to cover...

Watching you is like watching a cheerleader who's team is getting their butt kicked 49-0 at halftime.

One caveat,

NHC switched to 12 hourly fixes

This could just be the end of a standard 12 hourly fix mission and not them declaring the system dissipated

Cyc,
This could just be a standard 12 hourly fix mission. The TCPOD indicated that they were switching from 6 to 12 hourly fixes

Two weeks ago if we had a LLC with convection 270 degrees around it, everyone would be crying super typhoon in the making! Just because this storm is on the downhill slide does not mean it has no chance for recovery.

Did you see the shot of the USC cheerleader cheering with her hands up when UT scored a touchdown.... classic. Similar situation.

Just dandy, the NASA site appears to be having problems - can't load a loop.

I noticed that too. I think the ferocious winds from Chris broke it.
