Another dying cold front, another opportunity?

This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Another dying cold front, another opportunity?

#1 Postby HURAKAN » Sat Aug 05, 2006 11:22 am

Another cold front has made it to the East Coast of the United States helping the development of thunderstorms over the Gulf Stream. Every cold front that dies over the warm waters of the Atlantic is given some attention since cases like Beryl can occur. What do the pros think about this cold front? Can it develop tropically speaking, or not? Tropics are heating up and in every corner, there's a possibility.

Opinions.

Noticed the same this morning.. Looks like a familiar scenario. If it persists anything can happen.

Agree. Shear doesn't seem to be strong and water temps. are warm enough. Like always, PERSISTANCE IS THE KEY!!!

Floater 2 is over it. I think it's been there since 90L.

Very similar to the 1997 season when we had a lot of frontal development- Ana, Bill, Claudette.

Lots of convection east of the Carolinas asociated with the decaying cold front off the East Coast of the USA. I think this could be a focus point for development in the next few days.
