Only my husband!

#1 Postby CajunMama » Sat Aug 05, 2006 9:44 pm

We've had some invasive st. augustine grass trying to grow amid our beautiful centipede grass. Something made the st. aug grass turn brown and start dying....no problem...didn't want it anyway. Soooooooos my husband goes out and rents a sodcutter to pull up the dead st. aug. I'm sitting here on my computer playing.....can't get on the internet. Hubby comes in with a sheepish look on his face and said he cut the cable. Image So I have no internet and no cable and the rest of the weekend facing me. What's a girl to do? I start laughing and get on the phone to cox cable, a wait time of 29 minutes to talk to a rep. I finally get a human and tell him the story and he starts laughing too! He explains to hubby that hubby can splice the cable together and he can have cox cable out here on Sunday. Hubby splices the cable and we have cable! No internet Image So what's a girl to do? Shopping Image Came back after spending nothing and my internet was working. I'm soooooo happy now!Image

CajunMama, it sounds like your husband and mine are twins from different mothers -- at least when it comes to landscaping skills!

I can't tell you the number of times mine has sliced through the extension cord while trimming the hedges... seriously, we keep several heavy-duty cords on hand because he regularly rips right through them!

Of course i didn't tell all the story! The cable line was only buried about 1" when it was supposed to be buried 6-8". I love my husband but he is definately mechanically declined!

Verizon just buried cable in our ditch a couple of weeks ago, and six inches is exposed with the line looped in the air. I don't think its buried even a half inch deep. I called and told them and they have yet to show up to bury the cable.

Good for you - hubby cuts cable - wife goes shopping! LOL

When we first moved onto our street (second of 27 new homes in the late 80s, early 90s), we'd have contractors routinely cut our power (and cable sometimes). Then you'd have to wait....and wait....and wait. I remember starting dinner one night, with company here, and finally ordering pizza.

Men - what are we going to do with them? he he Just ask for their credit cards huh? LOL

You know what the problem with this story is? You didn't spend anything while shopping. You are never going to teach your husband a lesson unless you spend some cash.

LOL mama! I can't believe you don't want St. Augustine!!!!!!!! Thats all we have here in central FL. Glad you are all hooked back up. And if were my hubby he would have rigged it up before I could call anyone, he would have tore the whole yard up probably trying to bury it deeper. I don't know which is worse.
