Special Update: As KOW stated earlier (Go to Severe Weather Alerts for Details) ... multiple areas of severe weather, no less than 6 WW's ATT currently in effect ... Continued severe weather threat in Northern Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, all of Tennessee, West VA, and Western Virgina, and also the attention will turn into West Texas (get ready, Sarah_CB) ... Western Oklahoma, and also the Great High Plains of Central/Western Nebraska and South Dakota for tornadoes ...
In Texas, Latest RUC soundings have CAPE at 6000 j/kg in North Central Texas tonight ... in that same area, lapse rates are in the order of 7.0ºC ... Currently storms that are going in SE AR, and Northern MS ... just SW of that area has CAPE around 5000 j/kg ...
Short term: Look for severe wx to continue across TN, GA, AL, MS, WV, and VA in the next few hours ... with TX, OK, NE, and SD lighting up as the cap lessens ...
