TROPICAL WEATHER OUTLOOK
NWS TPC/NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER MIAMI FL
1030 PM EDT MON AUG 7 2006

FOR THE NORTH ATLANTIC...CARIBBEAN SEA AND THE GULF OF MEXICO...

A WELL-DEFINED AREA OF LOW-PRESSURE CENTERED ABOUT 1150 MILES
EAST OF THE WINDWARD ISLANDS IS MOVING WESTWARD AT ABOUT 15 MPH.
ALTHOUGH OVERALL ORGANIZATION HAS CHANGED LITTLE THIS EVENING...
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS APPEAR MARGINALLY FAVORABLE FOR A
TROPICAL DEPRESSION TO POSSIBLY FORM DURING THE NEXT DAY OR SO.

A NON-TROPICAL LOW IS LOCATED ABOUT 725 MILES SOUTHWEST OF THE
AZORES. SHOWER AND THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY ASSOCIATED WITH THIS
SYSTEM REMAINS DISORGANIZED AND DEVELOPMENT...IF ANY...IS
EXPECTED TO BE SLOW TO OCCUR.

A TROPICAL WAVE INTERACTING WITH AN UPPER-LEVEL LOW IS PRODUCING
SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS OVER HISPANIOLA...THE SOUTHEASTERN
BAHAMAS...AND THE TURKS AND CAICOS. UPPER-LEVEL WINDS ARE
UNFAVORABLE FOR ANY SIGNIFICANT DEVELOPMENT OF THIS SYSTEM
AS IT MOVES WESTWARD AT 15 TO 20 MPH.

ELSEWHERE...TROPICAL STORM FORMATION IS NOT EXPECTED THROUGH
WEDNESDAY.

Boy, I just looked at the satellite floater ir again, and it doesn't look too impressive to me. I confess to a bias, I'm rooting for fizzle!!

I'm rooting for it to become Debby but every one has a option. But the likely hood of it happing is going down as Derek Pointed out.

There's obviously an extreme convection inhibiting influence in the Atlantic.

I would say the Wet MJO isn't in the Western Atlantic currently.

Its over the eastern and central Atlatnic right now. I think its the SOI making the Atlatnic act like a El nino with big tutt and trough's. With higher pressure.

Guys I would not count this one out yet. Give it 24-36 more hours. As pathetic as it looks it is still keeping minimal convection over it's center.

I agree. I do not write anything off in that area in August. Conditions while not great arent hostile either.
