In Kremmling, the average daily July high is 82, about the same as say the average July high in New York City or Boston, but it cools off at night over here. Average nightly low here in July is 42, about the same as NYC or Boston in November. Winter can get in the -40's, though -20's is much more common.
I'm just working in Kremmling for a few weeks though. I actually live farther west. In Maybell, near where I live, the record summer high is 102 and the winter low -61, though in an average year (according the the NWS) the hottest day is only 95 and the average coldest day -31.
Well, at the time I passed through there it was cooler than that. I don't remember what time of day it was, but it felt like it was in the 70s. Either way, an average high of 82 is 10 degrees lower than it is here.

Cooler today than yesterday? Yes, but at a price.
We hit 107 here in Tulsa on Thursday, had a dry windstorm go through about 10pm. Lost power until 9am this morning. Was miserably hot in the house through the night, then light rain in the morning - just enough to make it really humid.
No sleep, cold shower, lucky it was a slow day at work....
But only 97 or so this afternoon. Brrrrrr.

wow! A 50F+ temperature change during the day? Amazing.
Yes, not uncommon at all. 60 degrees in a day isn't that uncommon.
Last year at the official station closest to where I live, our average July day was 90.2 and the average night 43.6, giving an average spead of 46.6 degrees, with six days being in the 30's in the afternoon and 90's during the day. Official lows for the dates below in 2005:
8: 91 38
9: 90 39
11: 90 39
19: 95 38
29: 94 39
This year has been a bit warmer at night due to cloud cover, so it's mostly been in the 40's at night when it hits 90. Dry Fall days are when the big changes from day to night are. In October, for example the temperature can easily go from the teens at night to the low 80's in the day.
Either way, an average high of 82 is 10 degrees lower than it is here.
True, but no one in Kremmling has an air conditioner, and the houses all face south to catch the winter sun. When I lived in SLC, I just turned on the swamp cooler when it got warm in the house.

It actually snowed in the high mountains yesterday, but it melted quickly.
Unfortunately the swamp cooler in my house only reaches the upstairs. The basement, where my computer is, isn't hit by it at all, so I have to use a fan (which isn't always effective).

I remember when I was growing up in Long Island that the last week in August or just before school was going to start, the temps would drop and we'd get some rainy weather to boot. It kind of signaled the upcoming change from Summer to Fall. The first week of school though was always HOT! We start school after Labor Day up here in NJ and NY.
My husband asked sarcastically this morning if I put the heat on...
