5.2 quake shakes the Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico

I felt it as the computer moved to the sides from right to left and the chair also moved.It was fairly long,around 15 seconds.No reports of damage in Puerto Rico.

Experiencing an earthquake is definitely not cool. Been there, done that and never want to do it again.

Well,there is a fault near the Virgin Islands that is active that has caused many tremors and quakes in the past decades.Right now el sombrero fault which is the name is very active.However no big ones haved occured since 1918 which was a 7.3.

Man those are not fun, went to Acapulco once sitting up on my patio in the mountains, had my feet propped up, hubby at the time was playing tennis so I was alone everything started shaking scared the crap outa me felt like it lasted forever it didn't really, never want to feel that again

Oh sorry Linda for not replying earlier as I didn't come to off-topic until now.

Well the table where the computer is began to move from right to left and at that time I knew it was a quake.A few minutes later I turned on the radio and the news was being said about it.Thankfully,the epicenter was located in the ocean (21kms depth) well northeast of San Juan but no tsunami was reported.

I would have been scared as heck because I would have been thinking "tsunami" Thank God there was not one.

Tonight a 4.5 quake occured with epicenter in the same area as the 5.2 of this morning.Oh boy that Sombrero fault is pretty active now.But this one was not felt by me.

to weak to create a Tsunami

usually a quake of around magnitide 7 and upwards will trigger tsunamis

I am getting to this post late. I did not even know this happened. I did not feel a thing. I think I would have been scared to death wondering if a tsunami was on the way.....
