I hope and pray this is a routine visit to the hospital. But he is up there in age and so you worry.

President Ford will long be remembered for never having been elected to VP or Presidential Office. Found this on wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gerald_Ford
"He was the first person appointed to the Vice-Presidency under the terms of the 25th Amendment, and upon succession to the presidency became the first (and to date, only) president in U.S. history to fill that office without having been elected either President or Vice-President."

Something else I found interesting... he only lost by 2 points in 1976. He had been down 34 points 3 months earlier. That's an amazing comeback.

Updated: 1 hour, 26 minutes ago

ROCHESTER, Minn. - Former President Ford received a cardiac pacemaker Monday at the Mayo Clinic, a top aide said.

Ford, 93, was resting comfortably after the operation, and his wife and children were with him, according to a statement issued Monday afternoon by Penny Circle, his chief of staff.

Ford was expected to continue to recuperate at the clinic for several days. The pacemaker is designed to enhance his heart’s performance.

Yes, I hope President Ford has a full and speedy recovery. I enjoyed watching him as President trip on the steps of AF1, or hitting a person with a golf ball......MGC
