How many seasons have you seen? And be patient, things can change, and probably will ... in September. LAbor Day is coming.

1998, 1999, 2000, and 2001 were all slower than 2006 is so far. ALL those years were above average.

1998 - All we had was weak TS Alex, 13 more would come
1999 - All we had was Arlene, 11 more would come
2000 - Hurricane Alberto and short-lived Beryl, we would have 13 more
2001 - TS's Allison and Barry, no hurricanes, yet we would have 13 more storms, 9 hurricanes.

We have a LONG ways to go with 2006.

Will....if this is the slowest season you've ever seen, it has become very obvious you have not been watching the tropics long.

willjnewton, if your really bored like I am, just track and watch the storms in the North East Pacific until something forms in the Atlantic. If both those fail, then the Western Pacific  .

My friend 3 named storms so far. But really 4 cyclones because the unnamed one was very likely a tropical storm. Also All systems have fallen in June and July so far. Also 1997,2003 had is like that to...The quastion is will we have a 1997 or a 2003? 1997 had one landfalling hurricane with a major over the Atlatnic...Which means it was still more interesting then this year...2003 had 15 named storms with Isabel. We will see if this is in fact the slowest season in 10 to 12 years. I say this by that 1997 had major and a landfalling hurricane. If this season where not to pick up it would be...Thats where you hava a point. But it could also pick up big time later this month into Septemeber. Remember September is our most active move. We will also have to see about that el nino shutting down the season like 2002.

Wrong. IMO there will be an el Nino.

This is NOT the slowest. And I'm perfect with tracking the Pacific storms. Daniel, Monica, Ewiniar, Saomai show that the Atlantic is not the only basin with storms that literally make your jaw drop.

Can you seriously quit making new threads? I mean ok we know you are different but still it would help if you ask these questions or make these kind of comments in existing threads.

Excellent post Andrew92. I couldn't have put it better myself! I've been tracking storms since 1994, and this season is not that slow.
