2005 Typhoon Matsa (Category 2) (China)
2005 Super Typhoon Nabi (Category 5) (Japan)
2005 Super Typhoon Longwang (Category 4) (Taiwan/China)

That's too bad. The jokes wrote themselves when that storm was around.

She hit Vietnam and Thailand, leaving 4502 people dead or missing. She also caused hundreds of millions of dollars in damage. She was considered the worst typhoon disaster in Vietnam in the 20th century.
She also only peaked at 65KT.
I think he meant Linda in the EPAC. Right?

There have been a number of names that have come from the Pacific (both sides) over the ATL only to be retired there. For starters Opal was a WPAC and there were a couple of really bad Opals in WPAC. Ivan was a monster Super in WPAC, Katrina had a nasty rep in EPAC and in 1967 Katrina slammed Arizona fairly hard as a TS, Rita-ah yes Rita, the 1972 version was the kingpin of some of the worst Asian flooding and is the longest lived typhoon on record and the 1978 version is one of a handful of storms with a sub 880mb MSLP and it really did a number on the offshore islands from Luzon, Wilma has an especially sad reputation since it was the first storm ever to claim a recon crew as a STY in 1952.
