Question? Early Fall

#1 Postby bucman1 » Thu Aug 17, 2006 1:15 pm

If there was to be an early fall where cold fronts would come down sooner

than normal, would that change possible landfall possibilities.

Example:Gulf coast or west coast of Florida when cold fronts come south pull Tropical Storms North and Northeast?

Depends on the position of and motion of the storm, relative to that of the Trough. I think you are referring to a storm in the GOM, or Western Caribbean; in that case yes, such a setup would generally favor more northerly movement, towards Florida or the Northern Gulf Coast.

Wilma last October was steered exactly that way.
And the front enhanced the strength of the storm, especially the back half for So. Fla.

When a child, I'd often hear the expression that a hot summer means a cold winter...

Frank

P.S. Canadian temps have been on the noteable decrease over the past 10 days...
