Both are at risk. I'll make a bet with you will. I'll bet you that before the end of this year, both you and I will be under some type of watch. Like I told you in PM, stay tuned. The season is about to start rolling. And when it does, the action is going to be fast and furious. If I lived on the east coast or the gulf coast (which I do), I'd be checking my batteries, water and stuff to make sure I was good to stay or go (depending on what course of action my forecast office recommends). You should do the same, and also encourage your parents to check their supplies. That's something you can control. Hang on tight.

North up the coast. Like a Floyd or a Gloria if everything else sets up. I'm dreading the day I get hit.

right now the troughs are moving well offshore which wil block any cane from getting close to the coast.

Willj,
I don't know where you are on the East coast, but where I am, we really don't want a storm of any magnitude. It's been a few years, but one year we evacuated twice, and the next once. You can't realize the damage done to the businesses just by the evacuations, much less a major hurricane hitting. Yes, I agree, the excitement of hurricanes is alluring, but for homeowners, businesses, etc., even a threat is financially devastating. I personally own two businesses in my area, three boats, two houses, etc., Heck in 79'? we went through David when I was in Savannah. Low Cat 1, a lot of damage, out of power for six weeks. Although I know our powers co.s have upgraded, it could be pretty hurtful for all of us.

It's just waaay too hard to say Will. It's almost impossible. Things basically change on a day to day basis. We just need to wait until we actually have a storm to track...then see what the environment looks like in front of it.

all i can say is right now no cane could get close. jim cantore was saying the tropicas are very hostile for development right now. not even convection can devlop with numerous strong upper lows everywhere. an incredible 60 knots of shear is blasting 93L.

he did say things could change next week. remain vigilant
