Longing for 2000, 2001.

After 1999 (Dennis and Floyd, latter being the worse natural disaster in NC history) came 2000 and 2001 where not one TS or Hurricane watch was posted (the only two years in a row that I can ever remember that happening here). In fact there were no threats anywhere on the east coast and only TS strikes in the Gulf both years (we all could have done without Allison though). We here in NC were hoping that this would be the new trend for the new century. Of course 03 kinda ended that dream. But after 03, 04, and 05, I think we need a new break year. I know it will lead to boredom, but I think we all use a little boredom just one year.

I agree with you...yes I want time off from school and a little exciement (no not death and destruction...I'm not that type of person) however I think we all need a breather after the last 4 years...(yes 2002 did see landfalls and damage...)

2000 and 2001 had Hurricane Gordon and Tropical Storm Gabrielle
bring TS force winds to my area...but apart from that they were
not bad years for my area.
TS Gabrielle produced gusts to 70 mph over Southwest Florida.

yeah, I remember Gabrielle too. We got some nice 40-55mph gusts up in Orlando that day.
